From the Barrel Brewing Co. produces small batches of craft beer done right. Not even a microbrewery, From the Barrel styles itself as a nanobrewery. Although while the brewery is small, the tastes are big at this Londonderry, New Hampshire, brewhouse. FTB has just celebrated its third anniversary, and the hop is king here. There is a constantly rotating array of flavorful beers you must try if you get a chance to stop by. What’s on Tap?
Beers big on full, rich flavor are the order of the day at From the Barrel. One of the big stars at FTB is Papas Double India Pale Ale, while a bold imperial stout called Know Your Enemy is definitely one to look out for. A sampling of other beers you may see on the list include Elle Double IPA, Leftovers IPA, Lily IPA, Alana Pale Ale, Zed’s Dead Pale Ale and Strictly Citra Pale Ale. If you’re in the mood for a darker brew, you’ll always find selections like Coffee Remedy Porter or Coconut Remedy Porter. If you’re a pilsner fan, try to show up when Powerful Pilz is on the menu, complete with Pilsen malt and Amarillo and Columbus hops.

The Barrel Brewing Co. Tap Room is open from 4-7 p.m. on Friday and noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday. You’ll be treated to samples and flights of whatever beers are in rotation that day, and you can take advantage of 32-ounce growler fills and 22-ounce bomber bottles. Before you leave, check out some of the fun merchandise they have on offer, including a can glass, tulip glass, growler glass or teku glass emblazoned with the From the Barrel logo. You’ll also find can openers and tote bags.
