Craft Brewery Profile: Cold Harbor Brewing Co.
The name and the beers are the only cold things about this brewery in Westborough, Massachusetts, which is infected by a warm and friendly atmosphere that makes a day at the Cold Harbor Brewing Co. something to be savored, along with the great beers they brew. Named in honor of the grain mills of Cold Harbor Brook as a testament to simpler times where quality trumped mass production, Cold Harbor Brewing Co. produces an assortment of ales that delight the palate, with an emphasis on their distinctive New England IPAs.
What’s on Tap?
You’ll definitely want to try one of Cold Harbor Brewing Co.’s famous IPAs, fruity, hop-forward brews you’re sure to enjoy. Currently featured IPAs include the Indian Summer, a bright orange, hazy brew with aromas of pineapple, papaya, grapefruit and mango; the Sister Summer, a variation on the Indian Summer with Amarillo, Simcoe and Citra hops; and the Ravenna, with a golden color and lots of strong Mosaic hops in the mix. There are double IPAs on the menu too, including the Tradesman DIPA with notes of pine, orange and peach and a dry, smooth finish; and the Novacane DIPA with notes of berry and peach.
If you’re looking to move away from IPAs, you’ll find light and dark selections too. Try First Light, a yellow, slightly hazy summery beer with a light, crisp taste and notes of honey and wheat, or the Mustache, a dark beer with aromas of rich chocolate and coffee that is quite smooth to the taste.
