Craft Brewery Profile: 603 Brewing Company
Head out to Londonderry, N.H., to find 603 Brewing Company, where the motto is “live free, 603.” The offspring of three college friends with a love of home brewing had no idea that what started as a hobby that bonded them would quickly become an industry. The number 603 soon became synonymous with quality local New Hampshire craft brewing.
Mere months after they began, the team found themselves needing a larger facility to accommodate the demand for their beers, which they found in this Londonderry spot. Their new location allowed them to quadruple capacity and hire a staff of passionate beer-lovers like themselves, dubbed “The Brew Crew.”
You’re invited to come down Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday from noon to 8 p.m., Saturday from noon to 8 p.m. or Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Check out the regular selections and exclusive on-site offerings while you watch the brewers at work, meet the Crew and get some 603 beer gear.
What’s on Tap?
While you never know what new concoctions they’ll come up with at 603, some of their classic selections include the Waterville Wheat Ale, an international affair with American base malt, German wheat, Belgian Wit Yeast and English noble hops; Winni Amber Ale, the beer that started it all, a full-bodied amber ale with a blend of five types of American hops; and the popular White Peaks IPA, an India Pale Ale featuring seven American hop blend, dry hopped with Cascade.
If you’re feeling rebellious, you might want to dive into the Wood Devil Double IPA, a DIPA with a kick that’s a tribute to the perilous mythical creatures that supposedly stalk the New Hampshire woods. This Wood Devil features heavy citrus and floral hop additions late in the boil as well as dry hop.
